Can We Continue to Trust Google?

Google offers a wide variety of services. Gmail, Search, online office collaboration, and a number of other services that are commonly used by millions of people around the world. Is it becoming to much for Google to handle? Despite having 20,000+ employees still, even after the “let goes” of 10,000 temporary employees, Google is still […]

ReadAir: Google Reader on Your Desktop

If you’re a huge Google Reader fan like I am, you usually will keep a window open for Google Reader. But after a while, that can get annoying — it does for me at least. There is an application called ReadAir, which is an Adobe AIR version of Google Reader. But, it’s not quite perfect, […]

Ironic, Lively is Dead.

I find it ironic that a project named Lively is, well, dead. Google announced that they are shutting down the beta project called Lively. Here’s a short excerpt from the post about why it’s being shut down. That’s why, despite all the virtual high fives and creative rooms everyone has enjoyed in the last four […]

20% of a New Feature for Google Reader

Google exercises the 70/20/10 methodology for it’s employees. Two of Google’s employees decided to use that 20% time to develop a new feature for Google Reader. You can read the complete story here, but here’s my take on it. The new feature released is the ability to publish a blogroll of the subscriptions you are currently reading. Frankly, I’m surprised this was developed purely in the 20%er time, rather than being a primary focus feature. This is a huge feature that I’m sure hundreds, if not thousands, of Google Reader users would love to have had a long time ago. Dolapo, thank you. Even though I’m not a Google Reader user, I know it will make a huge difference in the Google Reader community. Great work!

Google Reader Has a New Look

As of today, Google Reader has a new look — and even more important, a lot of new features that we think you’ll like. We’ve listened to your feedback, done usability research, and examined all the ways that people consume content on the web, from feed readers to email clients. With a clean interface and some JavaScript wizardry, we think we’ve built an application that accommodates a wide range of reading styles while being fun and easy to use. Google Reader I like the new feel to it. While I still use Feed Demon 2 for all my feeds (at least as of right now), I really do like it. I used Google Reader quite a bit while away from home, so I could easily keep all my feeds in one place. Check it out: Google Reader.
