YouTube/Google & CBS are Talking

The two companies had been closing in on a multi-year deal, the paper said, citing people familiar with the matter. The companies also discussed ways to peddle CBS Radio advertising spots to Google advertisers, the paper said. This is going to be a great move for both CBS and Google (YouTube). CBS will probably get compensation in the form of royalties on a per view basis, some sort of long-term payment, or possibly an exchange of services. Since Google has access to a lot of radio advertising now, this could be a great opportunity for CBS to gain better radio visibility. Nasa and Google Team Up

Nasa and Google have teamed up together in an effort to share resources in data research and for Nasa to utilize Google Earth. This will be a huge partnership more so for Nasa, I think, than Google because Google has the largest server farm in the world. This kind of computing power will be a huge asset to Nasa. Nasa needs that kind of computing power to increase the speed of research and development. Of course Google wouldn’t do the partnership unless it benefited Google as well. It’s not 100% clear how Google will benefit from it yet, but I have a hunch that Google will take advantage of the access to space photos and videos as an exclusive resource for their recently purchased YouTube.com.
