Google Base API Integration

The Google Base team has released some updates to the API that will allow for developers to more easily integrate their applications into the Base platform. One of the upgrades is that items added via the API are instantly searchable. This means you no longer need to wait an hour for them to show up in relevant Google search results pages. Now, after inserting your items, users may find them in their results for searches on relevant Google properties like Froogle, Google Maps and Google.com. Some huge news for developers, from what I see, and now sites can more easily just hook in and grab the data they need. Time to Wave Goodbye to Froogle

The link to Froogle disappeared not too long ago from the Google homepage. This was a pre-emptive move for Google as they had bigger plans in mind for their product search network.
