Apple Announces Launch Date of Leopard
Packed with more than 300 new features, Mac OS X Leopard goes on sale Friday, October 26, at 6:00 p.m. at Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers, Apple announced today. According to various sources around the web, Apple (”AAPL“) and VW (”VLKAY“) are in talks about co-creating the new iCar.
A Volkswagen representative confirmed to the German-language paper that talks were at an “early stage,” and that Steve Jobs met with VW CEO Martin Winterkorn several days ago to discuss the concept further.
So what’s the next move for the industry? For Google? Might this be the next rabbit trail for Google to try to get a piece of the action in? Apple has been able to focus on the music industry for quite some time. Already being a leader in the computer industry, the music hardware industry only seemed like their next logical move. Now Apple is involved with computers, music (iPod), mobile (iPhone), and now an emerging entrance to the automotive industry.
Apple Announces 100 Million iPods Sold
Apple announced today that they sold their 100 millionth iPod. Seriously, that’s a lot of iPods. That’s a lot of music flowing around the world. 100 million iPods x ~$300 each….that’s….$30 billion. Wow, that’s a lot of revenue. Congrats to Apple for being the best and doing the best job at creating an mp3 player.
