Google recently, as of December 2008, is crowdsourcing for new product ideas.

Google has two upcoming developer conferences which are worth noting.
The Google Developer Hackathon @ the Open Source Developers’ Conference 2008, will be about various open source technologies. Some of the include hacking OpenSocial, OpenLayers, and some Google App Engine applications.

Google to Compete with Amazon S3 Web Service

Just a few moments ago, at 12:00am PST, Google launched its Google App Engine platform which will be a direct competitor to Amazon’s S3 service.
