Reported on Friday by Greg Robbins of the Google Mac Team, the Google Data APIs are coming to the iPhone. The Data APIs will be coming to the iPhone via the Objective-C application development language, native to Mac OS X.

The new source files for Google Data APIs are under version 1.4 and compile without a problem using the iPhone SDK.

“If you are a Mac or iPhone developer looking to integrate Google’s services with your application, or if you’re just curious, take a look at the project and the examples on our Google Code site.”

It has not been a secret that Google is moving into the mobile industry. So what better way to get a piece of the action than to provide services dedicated to the iPhone.

Google definitely wants a piece, if not the whole pie, of the action for the mobile industry and they are making every effort to ensure that happens.

Google was not alone when they saw a drop in the number of web searches for February, “…the worldwide volume of searches also declined, comScore said on Wednesday.”

Web searches do seem to be down a little bit, but mobile traffic is increasing at an alarming rate. I feel this is where Google is starting to spend more time focusing as well. Recent partnerships, with companies such as Nokia, prove that Google knows that the world is “going mobile.”

Google also has their Android platform slowly being released and being adopted by more and more companies.

But enough about mobile search.

Web search is still very real and will not disappear for a very long time, so while it’s here, let’s make the best of it.

“…Nokia and Google today announced that Google’s popular search engine will be integrated with the Nokia Search application.” Just another reason we strongly see Google moving into the mobile industry.

Over two years ago, we saw Motorola and Google partner together to offer Google services in a more efficient manner.

Then, shortly after that partnership, we saw Google partner with Sprint to offer direct Gmail access.

There has been some slight diversity in these partnerships though. Motorola deals with cell phone production, Sprint is a mobile device carrier, and Nokia deals with cell phone production. Two production companies, one mobile provider. We have yet to see Google to partner with another mobile provider, such as Verizon Wireless or <del>Cingular</del> the “New AT&T.”

Google is strengthening its mobile partners everyday to increase the visibility and usage of Google. Is it to stay in line with their mission statement, to “organize the world’s information in the most efficient way” or is it to earn the most money as possible?

Either way, Google is creating these partnerships to keep their foothold in the search market and to continue to dominate the mobile search industry.

Google still has competition out there for mobile search, but they are trying to close the gap everyday.

Google came out with the winning bid for the 700mhz frequency that the FCC has been auctioning off. A nice price tag of USD$4.7bn for the frequency.

A bid of $4.7 billion this morning for the most valuable group of wireless licenses in the Federal Communications Commission auction for 700Mhz spectrum pushed the price over the minimum price the government set. That means that the government is likely to receive over $12 billion for the block of spectrum that is being abandoned next year as television broadcasters move permanently to new digital frequencies. The government has said it hoped to earn at least $10 billion from the auction.

Do not for a second think that this bid went down quietly though. The FCC and Google have been butting heads for a while, but Google came out with the largest bid and won the auction.

This will be a perfect fit for the rumored Google Phone and other acquisitions they’ve already made.

Kudos to Google for starting the push of hardware to match their software. The revolution has begun.

According to an article by Bloomberg, Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. has announced that they expect Google’s stock to surpass the $700 barrier. This will be the largest and longest running stock hype in history.

Google has mobile technology in the works right now that will let them capture the remaining mobile advertising market that is still up for grabs. Google has gone both ways of declining that they are making a phone, then coming out and announcing that they are creating a phone, and they keep going back and forth about what they are really doing. Gphone news has been flying around the blogosphere everyday, but there is nothing definite yet.

“That kind of 24/7 advertising engagement–on a phone, no less–may sound like a nightmare. But what if you could determine the kinds of products you get pitched? Or, when your flight gets canceled in a faraway airport, text messages pop up for the best hotel deals in town? No random insurance ads or airline deals for trips to places you never visit. Best of all: Watch or read the custom ads, and your phone minutes are free.”

This short excerpt from Businessweek.com actually sparked an interest for me. So what if Google really could provide targeted advertising like that? Would it change the way the advertising world actually works? Would we slowly begin to stop getting all that wrongfully-targeted advertising that doesn’t even work?

Google has made it very clear that they want a piece of the mobile market, after lying about not being interested, the truth finally came out and now they are very serious about it.

Google is no longer just a search giant, they are far more than that.

Google already has plans to launch their own mobile phone [service] in the near future so this is exactly what they needed to build on top of that. “We’ve entered into an agreement to have Google acquire our Zingku service.” Straight from the Zingku.com homepage, we can see that Google will be extending their mobile services even more.

Zingku’s mission is to enable individuals and businesses to “mobilize their passion” by leveraging their personal network.

We started in 2005 when we noticed that teenage/twenty something’s and their friends were engaging in rich media conversations drawing upon the full reach of mobile text messaging, the immediacy and speed of instant messaging, and thoroughness of web browser interface. A single conversation would take place amidst all these communication channels… often leading to plans for the evening, a purchase down the road, or simply a series of chuckles that passed time.

A little bit about Zingku and what they do. So really what Google is trying to do now is target a new niche demographic that they haven’t been able to target yet. With Facebook picking up more and more traction everyday, Google needed to find a way to capture that market which has yet to be seriously tapped.

We have also seen that Google launched AdSense Mobile recently which is just another indication that Google is definitely moving into the mobile market.
