Google to Launch Groupon Clone

Google has confirmed that they are launching their own Groupon-like service.

Google had been reported of trying to acquire Groupon for somewhere upwards of $6 billion, but Groupon had declined the offer.

The real question is, why would Google spend that kind of money if they can build the same exact service within 30 days of offering to acquire Groupon?
