Google went all out today with a very different homepage logo.

When you mouse-over the logo, it actually moves, as you can see in the screenshot below.

Something to note, is that it’s using HTML5 to achieve this. It’s using div’s and in-line CSS to accomplish what could have previously only been done using Javascript. Google is a major promoter of HTML5 and I’m very happy to see this, because HTML5 is definitely a good bump in technology and standards.

HTML5 is definitely the next generation tech on the web that will start a new era but browser compatibility is a real issue when u can imagine that even in 2011 40 % of the population are still using IE6 while IE9 is already out and Mozilla 1.5 when the Mozilla Firefox 4.0 is out
