Goo.gl URL Shortener

Just a few days ago. Google announced they have their own URL Shortener.
As fitting, they got http://goo.gl.
Here are some of the key points which they are highlighting for the foundation of the new service:
- Stability – ensuring that the service has very good uptime
- Security – protecting users from malware and phishing pages
- Speed – fast resolution of short URLs
This is definitely a growing space. DuctTapeMarketing just put out an article this morning about branding your own URL Shortener. I actually have my own as well, I use dng.mn for all my links. It’s a grow space and it’s a good thing Google finally jumped on board with it.
