PageRank Update 2008

There is a public PageRank export happening today, with definitive confirmation from Matt Cutts.

But please note, PageRank is updated everyday internally at Google, this is simply the public facing number that is updated. You aren’t going to see a massive jump in rankings or a massive decrease in rankings because internally, your PageRank is essentially the same as it was yesterday — in Google’s eyes.

Something else of note, Google still does not own PageRank, it simply has a perpetual license for PageRank from Stanford University.
