Google Welcomes Code Contributions

The first comment on the post is actually a great question. “Is this the first outside contributor that has been granted commit privileges?” by Ryan.

Chrome is, I believe, the first product of Google which is accepting an external committer. [full doc on becoming a committer]

Google has chosen Pawel Hajdan Jr. as the first external committer to be part of the Chromium project. Since it is open source, it only makes sense to accept external committers to the project. [announcement]

Pawel is a student at the University of Warsaw.

This is a great new thing for Google to open up to the world.
