The End of API Keys for Google Maps Premiere

The era of API keys for Google Maps Premiere has come and gone. As announced an hour ago, Google Maps Premiere will no longer require an API key to be used in every API call. Instead, “we will now validate requests against a list of domains that we’ll maintain for your client ID.”

This is great news for Premiere Google Maps API users because it’s going to take the pain of having to remember your API key or even using it in your application. Instead, streamline the applications to be run from specific white-listed domains.
