The Guardian, one of the largest newspapers in the world, recently switched its RSS feeds from partial feeds to full feeds. Google’s Brian Shih thinks this is “great news” for The Guardian to be making the switch in “making more content available in more places…”
Spammers, you may now celebrate. In this instance, let’s term them “sploggers.”
These sploggers who used to be able to duplicate only bits and pieces of articles from The Guardian will now be able to copy entire articles, creating an even more trashed world wide web.
The Internet is NOT a dump truck.
But alas, the world is still full of sploggers and the Internet will become more and more congested full of worthless pages for those rapid Googlebots to crawl and waste energy on.
The Guardian of course has a larger concern on their mind than these sploggers, which is their readership.
They are hoping to grow their readership through the RSS avenue because they realize more and more people are becoming more connected strictly through RSS.
