Google officially lost the lawsuit brought to them by a photographer in Germany. The issue at hand was a case of copyright violations; displaying images without prior consent from the artist.

Google’s preview of a picture by German photographer Michael Bernhard violates his copyrights, the Regional Court of Hamburg ruled, his lawyer Matthies van Eendenburg said in an interview today. Thomas Horn, who holds the copyrights on some comics that were displayed in Google search results, won a second case, court spokeswoman Sabine Westphalen said in an e-mail.

Google has had just a world of headaches with copyright lawsuits, but, that just shows that they’re one of the “big guys” with the “deep pockets” for people to pull from.

Google is also still in the middle of the lawsuit from Mediaset in Europe in regard to some video content, well, 315,672 days worth of video content.
