Google’s Offline Marketing

When it comes to offline marketing, Google has not done a ton of it. They have focused on word of mouth marketing and online recognition.

While you may think that it would be the flip, that they would continue doing that, they are actually slowly but surely moving towards offline marketing.

Google has been spending a steady USD$20 million per year on offline marketing, according to an article from the Wall Street Journal.

Google has also been showing more of an interest in offline products lately, such as radio advertising, television advertising, and print advertising.

It only makes sense that they put money where their mouth is. If they’re going to offer these various advertising platforms, why shouldn’t they take advantage and use them for their own promotion? They actively do it using AdWords, such as promoting the new Google Chrome Browser.

But I still feel Google is being reluctant for really pushing forward full force into the offline arena as it’s not where their bread and butter is.

Google is making a good effort in doing it though, but they need more focus.
