Google is on the brink of turning ten years old. Whoa.
To celebrate, Google is kicking off the celebrations with Project 10100 at http://www.project10tothe100.com/.
What is the project about?
“Project 10100 (pronounced “Project 10 to the 100th”) is a call for ideas to change the world by helping as many people as possible.”
Now the question, why?
The question is: what would help? And help most?
At Google, we don’t believe we have the answers, but we do believe the answers are out there. Maybe in a lab, or a company, or a university — but maybe not.
Maybe the answer that helps somebody is in your head, in something you’ve observed, some notion that you’ve been fiddling with, some small connection you’ve noticed, some old thing you have seen with new eyes.
Google has the power to do great things around the world. Here is just another glimpse of that power being flexed to create a worldwide change that has a greater impact. A great impact that will effect more than you or me, but everyone — hopefully.

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years and what they’ve become. I remember when I first heard about Google in college, a friend told me that it was a great way to find out everything about yourself on the internet. Google has turned out to be a little more useful for me that just “Googling” myself. I’m excited about their new project.

Oh man, yeah Google has become a lot more than just “Googling” myself or yourself. So, so, SO much more.
Parts of me are glad it is, parts of me are not.
But alas, I wish them a happy 10th birthday.

I’m 17, but I can’t remember a time without Google. Hard to believe it’s only been 10 years.
