Accepting Outrageous Claims as Truth

This short excerpt from American Dad states exactly how I feel Wikipedia turned out as it is today.

Google Inside claims no copyright to the above video

I will repeat that Google has too much love for Wikipedia, despite what people say or think about it.

    It’s not just Wikipedia. Google also loves Ripoff Report except NO ONE can change or delete bogus claims or misinformation left by jilted lovers & disgruntled ex-employees.

    @Me,

    There’s probably a point to Ripoff Report so things cannot be removed and sure, there will always be a disgruntled employee here and there, that’s just part of life.

    But people will look at the domain of that site and realize what it’s about, not always accepting it as fact — unlike Wikipedia which everyone accepts as hard fact, sadly.

    “There’s probably a point to Ripoff Report so things cannot be removed”

    Yeah… I think the point is to charge victims $50,000 and a $1,500 monthly service fee to remove the bogus listing. Just do a search for Ripoff Report + something like Extortion or Racketeering.

    I do believe people take those listings into serious consideration regardless of the actual facts.

    If someone defames you in Wikipedia, it can be corrected.

    @Me,

    I’m not going to vouch for either Ripoff Report or Wikipedia as I have no investment in either nor do I operate either, but the world wide web is a place of freedoms.

    I could write something entirely negative about a company on here or I could write something completely positive, either could be false.

    The best way to stay in the best light is to always do the right thing and have a positive attitude. Sure, there’s a ton more to that statement than just that one phrase, but you get the point.

    The video doesn’t work for me because I’m in Ireland, but that gave me the opportunity to notice something. In your feed there’s a footer message saying this work is licenced under a Creative Commons licence, but of course you can’t say that about American Dad because you don’t own the copyright on it..

    Sorry to nitpick, but I get a bee in my bonnet about these sorts of things as I’ve seen it happen to my photos too!

    Donncha, how right you are. I will add a disclaimer that states I’m claiming no copyrights for Hulu videos. Thanks for catching that.
