Two nights ago was the launch party for Firefox 3. We had a great time. The party was hosted by AdaptiveBlue, who provided the pizza and beer. Then notch.es sponsored the second round of pizzas which were devoured within minutes.

The party was a blast! We had such a great time. A number of folks I already knew were there, so it was great to see them. Some people such as @webanalyticsguru, @chrissieb, @rebeccaforever, @tonybgoode, and @ozsultan, just to name a few.

The count for actual downloads of that 24-hour window was somewhere around the number of eight (8) million downloads, setting the world record for the most downloads in a single day.

I met a bunch of new people there, but one in particular stuck out to me. Lee from Veri.com was there and it was truly a pleasure to meet him and talk about Veri.com. As a sidebar item, Veri is something of a blend between Digg and Mixx meets Amazon Recommendations. That’s the short version, but there’s a lot that goes into it. It looks cool. You should sign up for a beta invite.

In other news, I downloaded Firefox 3 but am not quite happy with it yet. A lot of my extensions are not yet compatible and sadly Google has not yet stated if Google Browser Sync will be supported for Firefox 3 (which I use everyday).

So I’m still running on Firefox 2.0.0.14, but I have Firefox 3 installed just so I could see it and test it.

My attire for the evening was optimized by Leora Zellman.
