Turns out that Utube.com finally got fed up with having to deal with all of the “free traffic” they were getting. They decided to do something about it. They moved!
Their new site is Utubeonline.com. This way, no one will get the brand names confused anymore.
Let’s compare a few public analytics sources which gives some rough numbers: Alexa and Compete.com
First, Alexa,

Looking at those numbers, we can clearly see that they’re getting a good amount of traffic. Probably at least 300,000 visitors/day. But, what we should be asking ourselves is, are those visitors going to utube.com because they think it’s a video sharing site or are they interested in what Utube.com has to offer, as far Tube Mills goes?
Just for comparison sake, let’s take a look at what Compete.com says about Utube.com:

Compete.com’s rankings only confirms that Utube.com is certainly getting quite a bit of traffic.
Alright, so we’ve established that they’re getting a lot of traffic. They were previously getting pretty pissed off about all the traffic simply because they could not handle the load. Well, they changed their minds, it seems, and they’ve learned a little strategy we call “monetization.”
So what has Utube.com been doing to monetize their “newly found” and “free traffic”? What else! Ads baby!
Wow, that’s a lot of ads. Wait a second…that’s all that is on the page. It’s a purely monetized page.
No content, nothing real, just affiliate links and PPC links going through various ad networks.
Fantastic, so they’re probably generating anywhere from $10,000 to upwards of $100,000 per month just because of the domain name they have. YouTube.com is accidentally sending a ton of traffic their way.
Frankly, I’m a little surprised they have not tried harder to buy the domain utube.com so they can redirect it to youtube.com.
I have had debates in my head going back and forth about domain names recently, so keep your eyes pealed for a domain post in the near future.
