Listen to Mp3s Within Gmail
Posted by jonathan at 5:28pm EST on 04/20/2008
One of my friends send me an mp3 to listen to and I noticed there was a “play” button next to the mp3 file.
Turns out that Gmail does not only let view .doc files, .html files, .xls files, and all the other office extensions, but it also let’s you play mp3s directly within Gmail. Here’s what the screen will look like when viewing it.

To be able to do this, simply send someone, that’s using Gmail, an mp3 and they will be able to listen to it directly.

@Swaroop,
You’re right though. It is an old feture. I had missed the train on it when it was first announced and I stumbled on it through my daily activities.
Still worth mentioning for other people that may have missed it.
It’s like revisiting old past times to make sure everyone’s current.
Thanks for your input.
