I enjoy reading through and watching to see which keywords are referred to my site. I have noticed more and more specific keywords. Today, we are going to look at this specific term: “backup gmail with thunderbird”
Alright, so those terms put together provide results where I rank #2 or #3 in Google. Sure, I can imagine that most of the traffic goes to Lifehacker.com as they posted the original article, but here’s my analysis of it.
Lifehacker’s article title is “Gmail: Backing up Gmail with Thunderbird” while the title on Google Inside is “HOWTO: Backup Gmail with Thunderbird.”
The SEO tip here is to make your title human readable (and attractive). Yes, there are a number of things you can do on-page and off-page in order to optimize your site for search engines. But there is an element of non-technical SEO work that you need to keep in mind.

I will not say that I get an astronomical amount of traffic for this long trail search query. It gets a decent amount of traffic, but this particular keyword I’m just using as the example.
