GrandCentral Announces First Google Product Migration

Blogger is announcing the first integration of recently acquired GrandCentral.

With this integration, Blogger will let bloggers place a “call me” button on their page. The next question will be, how many bloggers will want their visitors to be able to call them up? I, for one, would be perfectly fine with it. The only problem I would have is that I’m not at home most of the time and I work full time, so I wouldn’t be available to talk on it, really, ever.

I think it’s a great concept, but the target audience is completely wrong, in my opinion. Google is fishing for a use of their new product of VoIP, but it’s not very practical.

For some bloggers, this may be an amazing new innovation and a godsend they have been waiting for, I do have to admit that. Some bloggers may think of this as a real world solution for voicemail and being able to talk back and forth to their visitors, without giving away their real number.

I have yet to test out the GrandCentral product, which at that point, I will be able to give a more educated opinion on the matter.

Props to Mashable for the story.

I’m not sure I would call this an actual “integration.” Grandcentral has had the webcall button feature since before Google acquired them.

Yeah, that’s the sad part. This is the closest thing we can see as to any kind of integration for any part of Google’s properties across the board. The “automatic” button integration to a blog.

It’s not the best news in the world, but it’s a start for GrandCentral.
