OpenAds is a project/product that I’ve been actively using/involved with for a number of years. It first started out as phpAdsNew, then slowly moved into MaxMediaManager (for high volume traffic), then migrated into a VC-backed product called OpenAds.
I use OpenAds on just about all of my websites to manage the advertising. Simply put, this product: makes my life easy.
It lets you easily manage campaigns, advertisements, zone-limiting restrictions, delivery options, and everything in between. What’s the best part? It’s free!
A quick note from Scott Switzer gives us some insight to why the company has re-branded themselves to OpenX. Personally, I’m all for it. As a strong supporter of OpenAds, now OpenX, I’m excited to see any changes and new products they bring to the market.

This is a little bit of proof as to how popular OpenAds OpenX really is. Moving from a N/A rank on Alexa all the way up
to a 5,000 ranking in under a month is some serious traffic (or just a lot of people with the Alexa toolbar.)
But the basis of this article is to congratulate the OpenX team. They have developed an amazing product that is going to help thousands, if not millions, of publishers and companies. This product will help small businesses compete at a level which they otherwise could not have.
