Yesterday, Google announced the 2008 Hackathon to be held at their headquarters in Mountain View, CA.

As far as I can tell, it’s not a contest, but just a time to get together.

“The event is open to anyone in the community that wants to learn about some Google API’s, do some coding, or ask some questions. So please bring your laptops and come hang out at Google.” That said, it’s just a time for people to come visit Google and for Google to really open themselves up to the public.

Here are the event details,

The event will be held in two sessions, the first from 2:00PM - 5:30PM and another from 6:00PM - 10:00PM. You are welcome to stay for both.
