Google Takes Heat for Potential Age Discrimination

Brian Reid is the source of this law suit that Google is being handed. “Age discrimination” is what Reid is filing for.
In his lawsuit, Brian Reid alleges he was told he was not a “cultural fit” when he was being fired from his job in February 2004. He also claims that his colleagues referred to him as “old man” and “fuddy-duddy.” Google has declined to comment on the matter but says Reid was let go because the in-house graduate degree program department he had been assigned to was eliminated.
So how does Reid’s “old age” play such a factor into this law suit? Earlier this morning, I ran across a TC article about Google and Facebook going on a hiring spree for Computer Science grads.
Google is looking for the young, innovative, and competent engineers and employees to explode the growth of Google even further than it already is.
New employees should be aware that their head-haunch-o bosses won’t be around longer than 20 years though, if they are expecting to stick around that long.
