In an interview hosted by CNN’s Fortune, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Eric Schmidt all have a few things to say about Google and their positions there.
Here is the highlight question,
Will you all work at Google for the rest of your careers?
Schmidt: We agreed to work together for how long, gentlemen?
Brin: Twenty years.
Really? When did you make that agreement?
Schmidt: Two years, seven months, and four days ago. But who’s counting? Actually, we agreed the month before we went public that we would work together for 20 years. I will be 69, and according to Google I’m going to live to 84, so I should be fine.
20 years. That’s it? Well, Eric has already been the CEO of Sun Microsystems so he’s had a lifetime of success already. Eric has obtained more success than most of us can even dream of.
And well, for Larry and Sergey, they’ve been equally successful, both co-founders of a small company called Google Inc.
20 years, is it enough? You bet. They will be quadruple billionaires by then and will be able to finish out life in bliss.
