This is How You Get Traffic

Ever wondered how to generate a lot of traffic in a short amount of time? Let’s take a look at the most recent social movement.
Data Portability. The ability to port your data from anywhere to anywhere. Who has joined this movement so far?
Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, Plaxo, SixApart, Flickr (Yahoo!), just to name a few (that I could find).
This huge social movement for porting data is going to be exactly that, huge. It’s going to be huge for consumers because it means creating a standard, it means having access to the data you create, it means usability.
But, this Alexa report below shows just how that traffic grew — and how fast. DataPortability.org went from an Alexa ranking ~300,000 to a ranking of ~20,000 yesterday. That’s some serious traffic now.
