Sogou Not so Pleased with Google

Sogou.com, a Chinese search engine, complained that Google was using its data to input Chinese characters into copy.

Google was more than happy to offer up an apology as they looked at the facts and realized they were indeed in the wrong.

Google’s tool, the Pinyin Input Method Editor, is meant to be an easier way for a user to input characters in Pinyin, a phonetic system for writing characters in Roman letters. It suggests possible characters after just a few letters are typed.

Glad that Google knows it’s not very smart to reinvent the wheel, but Google should and now does also know it’s not smart to just steal tools.
