Microsoft launched their new video platform in September 2006. This past week, it was closed off to new users.
Why? Microsoft is fearing the dreadfully same lawsuit to be launched against them that happened to Google (YouTube.com).
Microsoft wants to gain a little more control of their users and the videos, ensuring that if something is copyrighted, that the proper owner is paid the dues they are entitled to.
This is a fair move for Microsoft, but being Microsoft (and slow to the game…again), they will probably fail again and never be up to part with the major players — Google and … wait, who else is out there? Just Google right now really.
