Straight from the New York Times, Google is looking at using the widely unused grid of power and energy in North Carolina with their new datacenter. Part of me wants to move to North Carolina just to go work for Google, but the other part of me asks, why are they employing people that have no clue what they’re doing?
It’s a good question though. Does Google feel like they are doing a ‘justice’ or a favor to the state by hiring all there employees that don’t have jobs? For one, it scares the heck out of me because I do not want someone that doesn’t know what they’re doing, managing my data. I do say my data because it’s my data, your data, everyone’s data through various things such as your Google Account.
Trying to improve their public image? I fail to see why since they have such a great public image already. The new datacenter will prove to be great for them, but how it’s employed scares me a little bit now.
