Google Without Freedom of Speech

After having been criticized for hosting a gay and lesbians bashing website, Google was prompted to take some sort of action. As a preliminary action Google put up a banner warning visitors that it could be bad for those faint of heart.

“We will act to remove blogs which are in clear breach of our terms and conditions,” Rachel Whetstone, director of corporate communications for Google Europe, told PinkNews.co.uk

So what was it? Was it a “breach” of terms and conditions or a breach of the first amendment? A little hard to say at this point, but I’m sure more news will follow this action by Google. It’s not something to take lightly because if it happened to this site, who’s to stop them from doing it to your blog?
