The chore of tapping free wireless networks like Google’s in Mountain View and MetroFi’s in downtown San Jose for your home network just got a little bit easier.
Ruckus Wireless in Sunnyvale announced its latest version of the MetroFlex, a WiFi in-home connectivity gadget. The MetroFlex uses antenna technology to receive the wireless signals and make the networks more accessible and reliable from inside the home.
With the ability to just buy a wireless router now and hook up this antenna to it, you will be able to receive Google Wi-Fi without a problem at all. Google has some details about it in their help center.
This is a time where I really wish I lived at least close to Mountain View, CA, but alas, I do not.
Have any of you actually tried out the Wi-Fi provided by Google and Earthlink up Mountain View?
