New Webmaster Tool: Backlinks
Posted at 5:51pm EST on 02/05/2007
There is a new backlink tool feature within the Google Webmaster Center. There is now a tool to track backlinks both internal and external. Searchengineland.com has done an amazing write-up about it so I can’t take any glory for this one.
Head over there and take a look at the article, there are some really sweet tools that they released.
To access the tool directly, use this URL: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/links?siteUrl=(FULL DOMAIN HERE)&hl=en
I’ll do a more detailed write-up about it later on once I’ve had a chance to use the new tool and such.

From what I understand from your description, this may give Technorati a run for their money… unless Google doesn’t do exactly the same thing…

Shorty, I think it will be similar, but different. As I’m looking through the tool, I do notice that it includes links that are even nofollow’ed, which their search does not follow presently.
There is much room for improvement with the tool though, such as filtering our specific domains or always excluding specific domains from the results. Maybe even another feature that lets users have more control such as “show me all links that count” or “order by their pagerank” so users can see what page they are being linked from that has X pagerank.
I really hope they include pagerank into the tool soon, that will make it an even more complete tool for webmasters.
