Reflecting on the Future of Google

As I touched on in 2006 last July, I mentioned the future of Google and what it looks like. Today, that future is just a little bit closer and we can see just a glimpse to what it looks like.

Last week Google announced their Q4 (Quarter Four) earnings for 2006 with a gleaming USD$3.21 billion in sales revenue. As I mentioned the previous article, “How do we all see the future of Google? We’ve got a company that makes 99% of its revenue from one source of income - ads,” it’s easy to say right now that Google can make it purely on that sales revenue through AdWords and AdSense.

Google has an amazing future and they’re simply an amazing company. Throughout 2006, Google has proven themselves as a primary player in the contextual advertising industry and of the online advertising industry. As one of the primary players online, Google has set themselves apart from the rest by — purely in my opinion — creating the easiest and best online advertising platform out there.

Yahoo! and MSN have theirs, but Google is just doing it better and faster to gain that market share. Google knows what’s up and how to do it, they won’t lose market share anytime soon. Google doesn’t have to worry about Yahoo! and MSN catching up any time soon.
