I completely missed this one. I don’t know how I didn’t hear anything about it until today (1 day late is a lot in the tech world!)
On Jan. 30 the most significant product launch in Microsoft Corp.’s history culminates in the release to consumers of the Windows Vista™ operating system and Microsoft® Office 2007. Starting tomorrow, these two flagship products will be available in more than 70 countries, in 19 languages (with 99 languages anticipated by the end of the year), and at more than 39,000 retail stores and online. The launch marks the achievement of an unprecedented collaboration between Microsoft and its customers and partners, and ushers in an era in which personal computing is easier, safer and more enjoyable than ever before.
I installed the beta of Vista on my laptop a while back, but I’ve seen what it looks like it and it doesn’t really interest me.
I won’t dare be upgrading anytime soon because I’m very happy (to the extent possible) with Windows XP Professional right now. Completely legal with all my software on my system, I get all my tasks done efficiently and promptly. I need nothing more right now on my computer.

Not worth buying until they work the bugs out, maybe not even then. Releasing a new OS is just a big cash grab. Generates more dough than continuing to perfect XP. Remember the early security problems with XP? I don’t want to go through that again. Plus, I’ve heard it’s a real memory hog.

I agree. It’s really not worth the buy since they’re releasing what…like 8 versions of it? I mean come on…seriously. Microsoft never releases a bugless version of Windows, so there’s really no point in spending the extra cash to go buy another buggy version.
