I’m a publisher along with thousands of other people for Text-Link-Ads.com. I’ve been an activate participant in helping provide new ideas for development and trying to create the best platform available today. But there was one problem that was really bugging me: there is no clear way to display what you are publishing. There was no real way to show everyone your inventory to possible advertisers that you are referring directly.
Now there is. This actually came from a friend of mine, Owen Winkler. So how do you display your inventory to advertisers directly? This is the easy part.
How do you get to this page? First go to “Edit Your Listings”, then either select “Add a Site” or edit your current listings by clicking “Edit Site Details.” Then skip the first page and go to the second page where you can edit the description and keywords.
Keywords is the important part here. This is how you are going to be displaying your inventory. You can either categorize things by an overall inventory or you can categorize things within other categories.
For this page above, you will see all the keywords I have. At the end of the keywords, you will see “ginside” and “fsmedia”. I’m categorizing this page for two search inventories. One will be “fsmedia” so I will be able to give a specific link and this will be included. But I will also be able to give a link just for this site and they will see this inventory.
What link am I giving to people? The following link: http://www.text-link-ads.com/packages.php?ref=7060&query=ginside
I could give them a query=fsmedia and it would include my whole inventory, but I choose just to give them that to see the inventory for this site. This is a very effective way to give possible advertisers direct access to your inventory without forcing them to jump through hoops first.
You will notice for the link above that a user must login to see it first. The link you are seeing has an affiliate code which will give you, the publisher, $25 for each certified publisher or advertising after signing up under your affiliate referral.
This method of inventory display is very effective for some people, others it may not be effective at all. It depends on how much advertising you want to do to sell your inventory.
