Remember Mismatched Domains came to my attention just yesterday. I was thinking, there’s got to be a way to get around the security issue of mismatched domains. When I’m constantly looking at awstats for my sites, I would always get this error box because the SSL cert actually belongs to a different domain of mine.
So I headed into #firefox on Freenode to ask them. While waiting for a response, I went and checked out Google (I should have Googled first, but forgot). So after doing a little searching, I stumbled upon this extension.
It’s great because all you need to do is check “Don’t warn me again about this certificate for this domain” and it will never bug you again. So I installed it, restarted Firefox, and loaded up one of the secure pages. It prompted me for the security mismatch and I checked the “Don’t warn me again…”, then close Firefox. Opened Firefox once more, went to that page, and it didn’t show the security warning.
I do have to note though, that the first time visiting the secure page after checking the box, it was a lot slower than I had hoped. So I closed Firefox again and opened it again. This time is was much faster and worked just as I had hoped. No security box, no warning, just straight to the password login for my site.
I highly recommend to those that are running into the same annoyances as me to download this extension.

I’m glad to hear RMD does the trick. I’d probably attribute the slowness you experienced when first visiting a ‘remembered’ domain to a random network hiccup but do let me know if it seems to become a regular thing.
Cheers,
A.

Thanks Andrew, it really did do the trick for me. It’s been ever since, it may have just been a network problem at the time. Seems to be running smoothly now.
Great job with it!
