Why Yahoo! is Better Than Google [right now]

Google SiteLinks were announced just last month — well, not really announced, but they were released. I think they’re annoying and here’s why.
Google SiteLinks get in the way. I have never used the SiteLinks. They get in the way because they don’t actually provide any useful data.
When I’m going to do a search, I know what I’m looking for. I already know exactly what I’m doing to find and how I’m going to find it. Google SiteLinks are not always relevant and useful, so like I’ve said, I’ve never used them.

It takes up more space. It’s not relevant* to my search, and it’s just not very useful.
But let’s take a look at Yahoo! Search for that same query.

So why do I think Yahoo! Search is better right now? It provides me the results. Clear, simple, and just gives me the results.
Google has slowly started integrating in Google images results within web results and other various “features.” Hey Google, if I wanted to do an image search, I would!
Google has some re-thinking to do about options and and being able to select how you search.

Hmmm Australian wine store or Wine-search database of 8000 Merchants. Which is more relevant…tough one that. As to your rant about Google SiteLinks – absolutely moot since everyone else uses them. This feature has saved me wading through countless cluttered websites. There have been ‘better’ search engines than Google. They just can’t get a foot in the door anymore now that Google is on top. Yahoo is not one of them.

Ian,
And per my thoughts above, I have a different feeling. Even if you use the SiteLinks, I know that not everyone does indeed use them.
I find them annoying, as you can see by my article.
The SiteLinks are just so hit or miss with relevancy that it just isn’t a dependable function for me to use.
If, however, the SiteLinks were accurate and always useful, I would of course use them. But, they are not.
“Pro Version.” Why would I want a pro version for something when I’m trying to compare wines? Just not relevant in my mind.
If the SiteLinks were customizable for each search query, now that would make sense.
