Over the past few days, I’ve noticed that the Google search index has been dwindling down. For some particular searches I like to make to see where I rank, I’ve noticed some huge drops.
“Google index” went from over 170 million results all the way down to just 16 million results. As far as I can tell, the rankings haven’t made any major changes besides the normal influx or +1 or -1 rankings.
I noticed a couple other terms I rank for moving from 80 milion+ down to just 8 million results.
Did Google finally scoop out and feed the pigs some spam? Or what exactly happened to the once-famous billions of results provided by Google. Maybe someone accidentally powered down one of their datacenters and Larry and Serg haven’t turned it back on.
