Reported on Thursday, Google will be launching their in-game advertising efforts by the end of the month. Google is doing this by their recently acquired in-game advertising technology through AdScape.
It is still unclear which games will be supported, but I’m really hoping that Counter-Strike is one of them.
Yeah, I know, sad, but hey, I still play it! It keeps me busy at night sometimes and keeps me entertained. I still play Starcraft too (not Starcraft 2 — yet, but too ;)
If Google can pull of in-game advertising in Counter-Strike, I might just start up running servers again and see how far it can go as an additional revenue stream.
