Gmail is getting better, better, and better! The Gmail team has announced they released the new Javascript back-end rewrite which has made significant efficiency increases. One of the biggest updates to the new code release is the enhanced contact manager which is now a big part of the Gmail interface.
A feature which has been requested time and time again by people is to offer IMAP support for e-mail clients. Gmail now offers IMAP support with this Gmail 2.0 release.
Be careful when using the new release though, many of the third-party plugins and user scripts out there may break.
The Gmail documentation has indeed been updated with some new keyboard shortcuts.
It’s truly a shame that I don’t use the Gmail interface anymore. I use Thunderbird for all my e-mail needs. I may have to reconsider using the Gmail interface in the future or find some way to make it useful for me.
