Wordpress, 9th Best Download on the Internet

According to the Google results for the term “download”, Wordpress is ranked #9 out of 800 million results.
There are some major players up there in the search results. Adobe, Microsoft, PHP, ICQ, but then there’s #9 at Wordpress.
As far as I can tell, not another blogging platform or CMS even comes close to Wordpress’ rankings there.

Wordpress is 14th in Polish Google, thanks to geolocation.
Anyways, I think it’s related to the fact that folks from Wordpress.com know how to SEO and their pages are pretty optimized. Surely if they start to work on this keyterm they might be much higher. At the moment it’s only “pure natural result”, in my humble opinion =)

And I agree, it is only pure natural result — which is far better than any manipulated result.
Yeah, that is due to geolocation, that’s why I put the link with the date, to at least help with clarification.

Dude, Google shows different results for respective countries, that was what I mean. Nice idea might be adding some info about your location to the screenshot, too. “07/12/2007 , United States of America”, for e.g. =)

Yes, I’m aware of that, that’s what geolocation is. Geotargeting is targeting based on the location of an IP address.
