This is a bit off-topic from Google, but I thought it was worth mentioning. This music radio station learns who you are and what you like. From that point, it starts to provide music based on your interests. You are able to say “I like it” or “I don’t like it” to songs, and based on those personal preferences, it will play similar music. Pandora Internet Radio has been around for a while, registered back in 1993 — 13 years ago — but the internet radio only started up in January 2000. http://www.pandora.com/
Together we set out to capture the essence of music at the most fundamental level. We ended up assembling literally hundreds of musical attributes or “genes” into a very large Music Genome. Taken together these genes capture the unique and magical musical identity of a song - everything from melody, harmony and rhythm, to instrumentation, orchestration, arrangement, lyrics, and of course the rich world of singing and vocal harmony. It’s not about what a band looks like, or what genre they supposedly belong to, or about who buys their records - it’s about what each individual song sounds like. (source)
I think it’s a brilliant idea to help provide new music to people. I stumbled on some new bands I would have never found before. Oh, I forgot to mention, it plays full length songs. It’s not just a clip of it, it’s a full internet radio station. The player lets you create an account and make favorite tracks or artists. It’s really an interesting concept and I think you should go it out! Pandora Internet Radio
