Google is making an effort to push IE7 out to users. As seen below in the screenshot, they are even spending the extra dollar to make sure people download it with the Google toolbar.
By default, Google is already the search engine used for IE7 users. I have IE7 installed on my computer for testing purposes, but I have a backup copy of IE6 available too.
Yahoo! however, is advertising almost just as much for the IE7 push. The AdWords team recently wrote an article about how they advertise just like any of us do, but I do still wonder how they get their ad in that little blue box rather than on the sidebar. Yahoo! has their own branded version of IE7 which uses their search by default — which is the only reason they are promoting it.
