Gmail Accepting Outlook Invitations

Gmail recently started accepting Microsoft Outlook invitations. I had this invitation sent to me from Outlook 2007.
Google is just one step closer to integration with Microsoft Office products. Does Microsoft see this as a good or a bad thing? We can only wait and see what Microsoft does in response to this kind of integration.
