Google CheckoutGoogle Checkout was released today. This new service by Google is the start of which will be a larger push for selling to the wide Google database of users. Checkout is a global service which will allow users to have a profile, linked to your Google Account, and then login to a website which has the Checkout integrated into the website’s billing system, then purchase things easily. This new single-point access will be very nice once a lot more sites start using the servie for really just one reason: you won’t need to keep creating new accounts everytime you go to a new store.

With this system, you will have one login, put in your credit card(s) once, add multiple shipping addresses if you have more than one, and basically just manage everything in one place. One thing I haven’t verified myself yet though, is whether or not Checkout will integrate into the actual shipping process and allow you to see what you’ve purchased using your Checkout account and then track the packages that you’ve paid for. That would be really nice to have.
