The Booming Tech Industry

Google Inc., the world’s most-used Internet search engine, expects as much as 40 percent of business transactions to be conducted on the Web, or influenced by it, in 10 years time as more consumers go online.

Consumers are always looking for a faster, easier, and more practical way to shop and get it done. The Internet is here to stay and has nearly become the most widely used method for shopping. Google has been the single largest influential company in this decade for the Internet. There has been a big push for using Google Checkout, but I certainly do not see it becoming a wide-spread use for major shopping sites.

Only 16 percent of the world’s population, or about 1 billion people, are online, but that 16 percent represents 85 percent of the world’s gross domestic product, he said. In Britain, broadband penetration may rise to 75 percent by the end of the decade from 60 percent now, Arora said.

Those numbers are guaranteed to change in the next 5 years, 10 years, 20 years. Life is moving online.
