Google launched the Apps for Your Domain program a while back. At first it started with just a school to see how it would run and if it really even made sense at all to do. Then slowly expanded it — after a successful launch with that school — and made it more widespread.
It’s come time for it to almost go full throttle.
Google wants large corporations, SMBs (small and midsize businesses), nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities to deploy their own Google apps start pages as “the place where organizations will send their users—not only for the apps that we offer, but also for the content that is relevant to them,” said Raju Gulabani, Google’s director of product management.
They are now in the movement to allow for major corporations ot start using this program. Dell has been using it for a long time already and has it fully integrated, so you can see it as an example. This gives yet another reason for people to want to use Google as their search engine.
In the broad scheme of things, Google has homed in what companies want, what users want, and what the world wants. Google knows what we want and they know how to deliver. This is why Google — in my opinion — is the number one search engine in the world right now. Yahoo! and MSN haven’t come remotely close to offering these kinds of products or services. Because Google offers these services and products, people are more often going to use Google because of their favoritism towards the company.
