Google thinks mobile phones should be free!

Google is starting the push for free mobile phones, but here’s the kicker: advertisements. Of course, advertisements. How else does anything come free from Google?

As an end user, I honestly don’t care about seeing ads because I rarely click on them and they are basically blind to me since I’ve seen so many. I can easily detect what are advertisements and what are not. The concept of having a free mobile phone is not new — as it was tried in Australia already — but Google does have much more weight in the matter and knows how to handle things just a little better.

Personally, I’m going to stick to a paid service for my mobile needs, simply because I would rather have the full customer service and I need something 100% reliable all the time. Free web hosting, free domains, there’s always some sort of string attached that I don’t want, so I stay away from free things when I know they’re very important to everyday needs.

You got a link to back this up?

Personally, I would rather pay to have my own (read: ad-free) phone.
