Not too long ago, Adobe Systems Inc. and Google came to terms and created an agreement which states that Google has paid a “significant” amount to this software giant to distribute the Web Search leader’s software, in recent Reuter reports.
This corporate agreement is just the start of what I believe to be a huge move for Google. Google has this large array of data from millions of users — and they happily provide it — but Google has no real way of using it. This is the start for Google, to begin using that data. With their inclusion in Adobe products, they can collect even more data which will soon be very usable for them.
In the same case, Google may feel like they are starting to lose grasp on the #1 Search position on the internet — with their recent move from #2 to #3 position Alexa Web Rankings. While Alexa can be very unpredictable and unrealiable, they none-the-less moved from #2 to #3. MSN bumped up slightly above Google. So in the end, this move for Google, to pay out this large amount of cash (maybe stocks too, who knows), to Adobe, could be their first big move to regain ownership of Search.
